Bamboo Floors

Many manufacture engineered bamboo flooring, but few take the time to ensure that every bamboo floor they produce is as safe and natural as it can be. Think about it. Bamboo is perhaps nature's greatest gift to us.

It grows very quickly, reaching full maturity and heights of 125 feet in only 5 to 6 years. Bamboo is incredibly hard, even harder than redoak, ash, maple or beech. The point is, bamboo is just a great alternative to hardwood or hardwood flooring and very environmentally friendly. Unfortunately, just because bamboo is a "green" building material, doesn't mean that it's always manufactured in an environmentally friendly way.

Engineered bamboo flooring is when sheets of bamboo are put together in plys using heat and adhesives. While the bamboo is eco-friendly, inferior adhesives can emit toxins that damage the environment and even continue to emit toxic fumes for years after an engineered bamboo floor is installed. As a consumer, you believe you're buying a "green" product, but you're actually purchasing something that's damaging the environment. We don't think that's fair, either.
